HIV TESTING, TREATMENT, AND PREVENTION

Take control of your sexual health by learning your status, getting into treatment, and preventing HIV from the start.

At the Gwinnett, Newton, and Rockdale Health Centers, we offer comprehensive, confidential STD testing and treatment services, including HIV testing and prevention. These services are available by appointment, and our team of specially trained healthcare providers are here to evaluate, test, and provide treatment for common sexually transmitted diseases like chlamydia, gonorrhea, and syphilis.

Our clinics are equipped with lab testing, on-site medication dispensing, STD patient education, preventive treatments such as PrEP, and partner notification and treatment services to ensure health and well-being. Our staff also work with patients testing positive for HIV, linking them to local clinical resources for treatment.

At our clinics we offer free condoms, as well as counseling and education at 470-353-9044.

Our STD and HIV Prevention staff also work actively in the community to bring prevention resources, education, testing, and linkage to treatment into the community. Visit GNR’s HIV prevention team website at surgegnr.com.

Pre-exposure vaccination is one of the most effective methods for preventing sexually transmitted illnesses or diseases. Immunizations we offer include Hepatitis A and Hepatitis B.

STD Counseling can help patients with treatment, understanding their contraceptive choices, and protecting their sexual partners. Depending on the type of infection, treatment for sexually transmitted infections or diseases may consist of antibiotics or antiviral drugs.

We help to prevent the spread of STIs by providing free confidential rapid syphilis, HIV, and Hepatitis C testing at the Surge Clinic in Lawrenceville.

Partner notification is a private process in which the health department contacts sexual partners who may have been exposed to a sexually transmitted disease (STD). Your information remains confidential, and the person who provided your name will stay anonymous.

Congenital syphilis, also known as CS, is a disease that occurs when a mother with syphilis passes the infection on to her baby during pregnancy. Prevention tools include testing and safe sex practices, such as condom use, during pregnancy. In the case you or your baby contract syphilis, seek treatment right away, as the disease can be treated and cured with antibiotics.
