- Infants and Children age 1 to 5 years (including foster children)
- Pregnant Women
- Breastfeeding Mothers (up to 1 year)
- Postpartum Women (up to 6 months)
Important note about Infant Formula
WIC participants purchasing infant formula are only allowed to purchase approved WIC formulary brands. Please see the list effective as of March 1, 2023.
We’ve switched to eWIC Benefits
eWIC is an electronic system for issuing WIC benefits which is loaded onto an eWIC card.
The eWIC card will be used in place of WIC vouchers to obtain WIC-approved foods from authorized eWIC retailers. You must have your Georgia eWIC card with you at the store to obtain your WIC benefits.
You may use your eWIC card as often as you like throughout the benefit period. Any benefits not used by midnight on the last day of the benefit period will expire and will not roll over to the next month. The first and last date to use your benefits can be found on your WIC shopping list or your last cash register receipt.
How do I get an eWIC card?
Participants who received paper vouchers before eWIC rolls out in their area will receive an eWIC card at the next scheduled appointment.
Is my eWIC card reusable?
Yes. Keep your eWIC card and take it to all your appointments.
You will receive a brochure with your new card explaining how to use it. You can read it here in English or Spanish.
How do I Qualify for WIC Benefits?
Generally, WIC is available to:
- Low income pregnant, breastfeeding, and postpartum women
- Low income parent or guardian who is the sole provider of children under age five who are at nutritional risk and who are at or below 185% of the federal poverty level
Income Eligibility Guidelines can be found here.
Take the WIC Eligibility Assessment to see if you quality* or contact your local WIC Office to make an appointment and find out which documents you will need to bring with you. At your appointment, WIC staff will check to see if you and your family qualify.
*This online tool is only a preliminary assessment – only Local WIC Agency staff can determine if you qualify for WIC services.
