Septic Systems – Homeowners/Landlords
Properly functioning septic systems provide a safe alternative of sewage disposal when municipal sewer is not available. Environmental Health’s involvement begins before the lot is created and ends once the lot is connected to sewer.
Things to Know
For many areas in our community, septic systems are the only available means of sewage disposal. When they are installed and used correctly they are a safe alternative to centralized sewer systems.
Environmental Health inspects all aspects of development related to properties utilizing septic systems. They also investigate all complaints of failing septic systems.
